Selected material
Elephants treading carefully (15’33), through a tea plantation
The elephants tread carefully through a tea plantation, they want the wild plants the grow among them (to any gardener these would be called weeds). Humans obviously don’t need to pick the weeds in this case!
Snub-nosed monkeys caring for each other (35’46)
Having friends is very important – however hugs are not necessarily to show affection, they are essential for survival (temperatures tend to fall far below freezing point).
Fox hunting pikas – excellent camerawork (41’25-41’27)
Filmed from the front where the cameraman must be able to spot the storyline before it happens. The arrows show the pika darting for the hole (top), the fox managing to catch it nevertheless, and then having the pika in her mouth. The next few frames confirmed the capture. There were several similar sequences of catching pikas. Presumably some failed attempts were also filmed but not included.
