Selected sequences
Capuchins using tools to access water
The first capuchin tries it’s luck using a tree branch to access the water left behind in the tree (top left), but others show him how to use the tail to do the same trick (6’38-8’10)
Tree hugging among sifakas
Tree-hugging is a recently discovered method used by sifakas to stay cool: Trees absorb water from underground and pull it up. Hugging the tree trunk (above) is a smart way to cool down but better still is to get inside the trunk (have the cooling trunks all around you, image below).
Squirrel using heat-dumping
A squirrel using method called heat-dumping (26′) which works in a similar way to the sifaka’s tree-hugging
Giraffe’s cooling system
Giraffes are much larger than the squirrels so they have to find a different way to cool down. Every spot on their skin has blood vessels that are expanded to release heat (31’48-32’05).
