This series is exclusively about the Antarctic, and its neighbouring islands like South Georgia.
According to the BBC boxset this series should belong to the Life Collection (perhaps because of “Life” being a part of its title). However it is in many ways quite different from the rest of them: Each of it’s episodes is only half an hour long and they are geographical. Also, apart from the this series companion book all the rest have a very similar format. The format for this one is completely different. It also would be the only one in the collection not written by Attenborough, apart from the introduction – similar arrangement to most of those accompanying the series for the “BBC Blockbusters”.
So far it will remain separate from them.
